Ofsted Inspection Framework – Birmingham

Own the narrative. Demonstrate impact.
Lead inspection conversations with confidence.

The inspection framework is now a year old and schools are beginning to see clear patterns emerge from inspections. From September 2026, further updates place an even greater emphasis on safeguarding, inclusion, curriculum thinking, attendance, personal development, wellbeing and leadership impact.

This one-day course goes beyond simply explaining the framework. Delegates will explore the latest updates, identify key messages emerging from inspections and gain practical insight into what inspectors are focusing on in schools today.

More importantly, delegates will leave with practical resources, inspection preparation materials and proven strategies that enable schools to confidently own their narrative, articulate their strengths and demonstrate impact with clarity and confidence.

Why school leaders trust this course

Delivered by John, an experienced School Improvement Partner, curriculum specialist and serving governor with more than 30 years of experience across primary, secondary, special and alternative provision settings.

This is not simply a briefing on the framework. Delegates receive a wealth of practical resources, self-evaluation materials, leadership tools, inspection preparation guidance and implementation resources that can be used immediately within their own setting.

Schools consistently describe the resources as invaluable, helping them strengthen practice, prepare staff and governors and build confidence ahead of inspection.

Schools leave with greater confidence, stronger preparation and a clear understanding of how to tell their story effectively. Rather than reacting to inspection, leaders will be equipped to confidently own the narrative, demonstrate impact and showcase the difference their school makes for pupils every day.

This is the third time I have attended John’s Ofsted-ready courses, and each time I have come away with new insights and, importantly, a clear action plan. John shares excellent advice, tips, and practical steps that genuinely strengthen your confidence and readiness as a leader when faced with Ofsted.

After my first online session, I had four pages of actions which I immediately implemented. Soon after, our school – previously judged RI – underwent inspection and was graded ‘Good’. I firmly believe the changes I made from John’s course contributed to this outcome.

I attended again when leading another RI school and, once more, we secured ‘Good’ following inspection. I have recommended the training to colleagues, and as a group of heads we most recently joined the updated course on the Ofsted Toolkit. Far from being daunting, it has given us a fresh perspective and helped us plan proactively to strengthen our offer for pupils.

Whether in person or online, I can highly recommend this course to any leader with an Ofsted visit on the horizon or who feels unsure about the new toolkit. It is clear, practical, and empowering.

Our training is delivered by experienced education professionals, including former school leaders and curriculum specialists, who provide evidence-based guidance on effective school leadership and educational improvement.
